Koh Lanta

So after a short boat trip to koh Lanta we dock on a platform and are amazed at the choice of accommodation here compared to Phi Phi. We didn’t know how good it would be but we got into the tuk tuk and head to Lanta Seahouse. The boys get out when we get there to check out the rooms, they come back about 10 seconds later and said ‘you had better come and see this’. So me and Steph get out and low and behold it is amazing, a huge open air restaurant, a swimming pool, really clean pool side and about 5 metres from the pool was the massive beach!!!!

Hardly anyone was there as well, being low season as well there were only a few more people in the entire hotel. I think we were sold on the pool and beach because we hadn’t even seen the rooms and Will had already stripped off and was in the pool!! We guessed we were staying then!! The deal was really good, we got adjoining rooms (!) with air con, fridge, hot water, TV, maid service (!), clean towels everyday and bottled water everyday for £9, which was less than we were paying in Phi Phi, and for soooo much more! We were very happy to have found this place!!

Needless to say we just relaxed here and caught some rays. In fact I think I spent the next 8 days horizontal, either swimming, sunbathing or sleeping!! There were also some good waves which Darren took advantage of hence the photos. But it was also sad because we finally got rid of Will and Steph here, they had to fly from Phuket to Bangkok and from there to London. Its very rare that you bump into complete strangers on a boat going down the Mekong and to still be with them 6 weeks later and have not strangled each other!!

We got on so well and really missed them especially their practical jokes and their attitude to ‘safe sex’! (See photo!) Good luck you guys and hopefully catch you sometime next year, where ever we or you may be!!
